BURSARIES

The 2023 Becoming an Outdoors Woman® Fall Workshop registration cost is $300.00. There are a limited number of bursaries available for partial payment of $175.00. The remainder of the registration fee ($125.00) is the responsibility of the applicant and must be paid on registration with Eventbrite. Bursary applications must be received by midnight January 9, 2023. Successful bursary recipients will receive a PROMO code to use with the Eventbrite online registration opening January 14, 2023. Classes often fill within hours, so log in early!  

Bursaries are offered to residents of Nova Scotia who are first-time participants, and either full-time students, single parents or from low-income households (see the application form for criteria). Those who have previously received a bursary/scholarship funding are not eligible. Receiving a bursary does not give you priority in classes. You should still register as soon as registration is open January 14, 2023 at 9:00 am to get your first-choice classes.

Please return the completed BURSARY APPLICATION to bownovascotia@gmail.com before midnight Monday, January 9, 2023.  You will be notified via email whether you are successful or not. You will receive a PROMO code to use with your online Eventbrite registration for partial payment if you are successful.

As long time coordinator, Sue took great pride in the Becoming an Outdoors Woman program. She served as both the BOW Coordinator and as an instructor with this program for many years. In Susan’s memory, the Hruszowy-Romkey family created a memorial fund that provides an annual partial bursary to the Becoming an Outdoors Woman Bursary Program to those who qualify.
